Recanati Barbera

BOTTLE: $

Ideal climate conditions , combined with meticulous management of the vineyard provided us with exceptional Barbera grapes, concentrated and rich in color. The wine resulting is unique, with a naturally high acidity level and typical varietal aromas of fresh plums and cherries, dried flowers, ground black pepper and smoke. The Vineyard The Barbera is a delicate variety that requires constant care while growing. The wine is produced from single vineyard grapes located at an elevation of 7 m above sea level at Kibbutz Manara in the Upper Galilee. This pretty and well-nurtured vineyard enjoys the cold climate that prevails in the region and extreme day/night temperature changes, which significantly contributes to obtaining grapes imbued with the classic features of this variety. The Harvest The Barbera grapes were hand-harvested in the early hours of the morning . They were brought to the winery as quickly as possible in small 350 kg containers to assure the wholeness and quality of the grape. Production Winemaker Lewis Pasco chose the path of natural processes and minimal intervention to allow the unique aromas and flavors to achieve their optimal potential. The aging period – 8 months in two-year old French oak barrels – provided the wine with delicate shades of oak that blended harmoniously with its fruity flavors. Serving Suggestions The wine’s natural acidity, together with its soft tannins, create a wonderful accompaniment for Italian delicacies. Recommended serving temperature is 16 -20 degrees Celsius.
