Founded by the Alfasi family in the heart of an enchanting and secluded oak forest at 1100 meters above sea level in the northern Golan Heights, Odem Mountain Winery is Israel's northernmost winery. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown at the Kerem Ben Zimra Vineyard in the Galilee Mountains. Climate there is cold in winter, and in summer both by typically Israeli, though moderate in temperatures, sunny days, and by cool misty nights. Volcanic Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in fine French oak barrels for 12 months, a process resulting in a deep ruby colored wine. Full-bodied with firm tannins, flavors once released are of blackberries, blueberries, vanilla and mint, leaving a long bold finish.
