Herzog- S/E Cabernet Sauvignon, Warnecke Vineyard, Chalk Hill, Unfiltered, 2001

This wine has been produced exclusively from selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at the base of the Chalk Hill vineyards in Alexander Valley. Aged for 20 months exclusively in French oak barrels, the wine is extremely well structured, and has a pronounced character of blackberry, cranberry, cassis, as well as a rich oak bouquet reflective of the barrels in which it has been aged. This wine is an outstanding example of Cabernet Sauvignon from this Appellation. Since the wine is unfined and unfiltered it may produce sediment as it ages.
