In producing this fine line of wines, the Herzog family selected a region of California known to employ the latest scientific advances in winemaking. They sought to create a wine that would share the same committment to excellence that Baron Herzog would have insisted upon, with the same fine taste that people have come to expect from Herzog wines for over 100 years.
Herzog Special Edition Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from grapes harvested in early October at the base of the Chalk Hill in the Alexander Valley. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, this rich and lush wine displays notes of blackberry and cassis highlighted by an oak bouquet. Since the wine is unfiltered it may produce sediment as it ages. Not available by the case.
