The 2001 vintage was even and cool and it resulted in a later than usual harvest. These conditions have produced a wine with impressive structure and complexity. This wine displays rich cranberry, blackberry and plum aromas. Aging for 20 months in small, new French and American oak barrels has added firmness, viscosity and a wonderful mocha aftertaste to this outstanding wine. This wine has excellent deep red color and a full, soft mouth feel.
